Congratulations to our presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden!
Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: With only one candidate remaining, how can anyone around here still be "Undecided"? [View all]NurseJackie
(42,862 posts)29. Only ONE party can defeat the GOP: DEMOCRATS. Only ONE candidate can defeat Trump: BIDEN.
Other candidates are still on most (all?) state ballots.
Irrelevant. There's no other way around it. Biden is our nominee. No other candidate will be our party's nominee.
actually frees someone to simply make known who they would truly prefer in an ideal world.
It "frees someone" to openly snub our party's choice is what it does.
Nobody on this site is obligated to announce their voting preference to the world.
Also irrelevant. That's a strawman because nobody is making the argument that anyone has such an "obligation".
Instead, what we are doing is letting you (and others) know that the snub and middle-finger being given to our party's choice is very obvious.
I might very well vote for Warren if she's on my ballot, to make that statement of support.
Why? She's not running. What does it accomplish? Nobody is fooled by all these convoluted justifications and excuses. It's just a way to say "fuck you" to Joe Biden.
And as you correctly noted, people are completely entitled to live in some "ideal world" fantasy and vote for a candidate who has ZERO chance of being our party's nominee. Just as loyal Democrats such as myself and others are entitled to name that type of behavior and call it out for what it really is.
All I'm saying (and repeating for clarity) is that this type of behavior is a passive-aggressive swipe, snub, and intentional insult being hurled at Biden, and it's a reinforcement of the "hold one's nose" and "Lesser of Two-Evils" bullshit.
Joe/Kamala or Biden/Harris 2020!!
They're stronger together & can't be bought!!
Jump on the Biden Bandwagon & let's take back America!!
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

The OP is clearly calling-out the anti-Biden behavior. Nothing more, nothing less.

It's an indication I'm not going to affix a Biden bumpersticker to my DU profile

The real question is "With only one candidate, why do we still have the candidate pics in our sigs?"
