but they are key if you have read the books (she just finished book 9 and of course I devoured it!). Things were horrible back in those days and author Diana does not shy away from the good, bad and ugly. It happened in the book and they did put it on the screen but it was done in a - how can i say this? easier... way than Jamie's. No less traumatic, but less graphic. If you read the books it was much more horrific. Its the best episodic series I've ever watched, I'll say that for sure!!!

And - its interesting. With all that is going on in America, its interesting to see the parallels to the times of the beginning of the United States. It's like the same arguments, the same fights. You learn allot about American history from this series. I definitely recommend the small investment into Starz to watch!
