My family lived just outside of the beltway in Maryland and went to Arlington to visit JFK's grave. It was a kind of pilgrimage and a common experience for those living in the metropolitan area. I was seven years old when we attended the 1964 World's Fair. I remember well the GM pavillion, shown in your photos, and riding in a convertible. The Unisphere, GE's Carousel of Progress and the two towers (later featured in Men In Black) all made lasting impressions. I had my first slice of pizza from a shop on the top level of one of the towers. There are photos from that trip, also taken with an Instamatic.

Thanks for the memories and a fitting photo for a somber day.
