I finger pick with the drop D on the 6th string Really gives it a cool bottom. I think Steve does too, in the video, watching him playthe G chord. Been exploring open tuning of late. Opens up a new world. Some Jason Isbell and Springsteen acoustic. Even Foo Fighters acoustic of Everlong.
I definitely have to sing “Can’t find my way home” an Octave lower than Steve, but it works.
