4. Will only make homelessness, drug use and crime worse. Dems should propose a comprehensive mental health care system.

Having worked in hospital administration and seeing in our ER's how untreated mental health conditions impacts families, communities and the health care system, it is truly an epidemic with huge costs to our society. While the county and state tried to cobble together a safety net system, it is a daunting task where there are too few mental health docs and specialists, woefully too few appropriate facilities and no support to families unless they are independently wealthy.

Mental health issues touch so many families that I think it would be a resonant issue if the Dems proposed something that was nationwide and comprehensive and with real $$$ support. Would need to include major recruiting and paid training initiative for mental health care docs and workers
