I think that 98% of the "news" is without meaningful value. There are a few good journalists, such as Lawrence on MSNBC. But overall, I make a conscious effort not to watch it. There are, of course, times when I do tune in, but that is almost exclusively when a relative or friend tells me about some issue being covered.

DU provides me with access to solid information. There are a couple other forums that provide the same quality of information, and I contribute slices of my opinion to them, too. I am particularly interested in conversations about organizing at the grass roots level. For it is the grass roots, and only the grass roots, that create the foundation required at this time in our history.
