I don't think enough attention is being given by the news media or even most social media people, to the fact that the US government is overtly lying, trying to frame innocent people with complete fabrications, like photoshopped "MS-13" tattoos that don't exist or arrests that never happened.
I mean Mango Mussolini trafficking in that fake photo should be a much bigger deal. Much bigger. Like that should genuinely be the only thing we are talking about big. It is a bald face lie that is easily disproved. That we have been conditioned to be so dismissive of his lies that we seem to have given up holding him accountable for anything he says or does and that is a very dangerous place to be.
This ridiculous framing of immigrants as, essentially, all being criminals is toxic and incredibly poor reflection on our country. We are in serious trouble and we need to start acting like it (not saying we are not but more a general statement of news media and even social media, as a whole).

1. Lied about someone to get him in legal trouble?
2. Actually produced false documents and pictures as well?
3. Kidnapped people and transported them to someone who would torture them and kill them?
4. Defied a court order to cease and desist?
5. Defied a court order to return the victim?
6. Repeatedly lied to the judge, gave dishonest and misleading info, etc.

Yet when Trump and his people do this, nothing happens to them at all.

Lots of criminality going on here and not much response yet. Doge etc. stealing our records, illegal tariffs etc. and so much more.

I think that 98% of the "news" is without meaningful value. There are a few good journalists, such as Lawrence on MSNBC. But overall, I make a conscious effort not to watch it. There are, of course, times when I do tune in, but that is almost exclusively when a relative or friend tells me about some issue being covered.

DU provides me with access to solid information. There are a couple other forums that provide the same quality of information, and I contribute slices of my opinion to them, too. I am particularly interested in conversations about organizing at the grass roots level. For it is the grass roots, and only the grass roots, that create the foundation required at this time in our history.

5. My Take

There are now hundreds of lawsuits against the EO’s and ICE and DoJ and firings at agencies etc. So that part of the system is working . But like felon45 there are multiple illegal actions a day - so it’s system overwhelm.

Then repubs in congress are not doing oversight (quite the opposite- front running felon47). So that leg of the stool is broken forcing more on the courts and individuals. Then the media is (mostly) bought off, so the 4th estate is a fraction of the voice it should be. So you are correct more *should* be happening & consequently we are in deep poopoo (to paraphrase a great American).

Courts turned this monster loose and he's coming for their throats.
