(23,012 posts)But it would be foolish to lose sight of the fact that millions of Biden supporters have reason to feel ecstatic right now, while millions of Sanders supporters have reason to feel disappointed if not depressed. That simply is the nature of any hotly contested conflict in which the stakes are high and real. The winner always has the advantage of having won, and those on the winning side have never have trouble accepting the results. I trust Biden to handle unifying the Party well. Those who were on his side (now our side) should try not to make that harder for him.
People like me, who supported Bernie, have our work cut out for us in the coming months also, rallying support for Biden among those who were unenthusiastic about him. I've been through this before, I adjust relatively easily, but not all people do, irregardless of their political leanings. Some people need time before they can be positively engaged again. That's simply a part of human nature.
