IMO it is to grab all the money they can grab from you as they DO NOT KNOW WHAT M.S. is.
You need to know the cause before you can find a cure or viable treatment.
As to why it helps people drive better is because their symptoms, such as spasticity and pain can be overwhelming and very distracting to say the least.
