6. I believe in the human potential for growth.

I believe that growth is measured through it's impact on relationships: with self, immediate community, humanity at large, the ecological systems we inhabit, and all existence.

I believe that we understand this potential and our relationships through story-telling: our own stories, the stories that have been handed down to us, and the interaction between the two.

I believe that these stories have a lot of influence on how we interpret our lives, and therefore on our actions.

I believe that different stories speak to different people, and that's alright as long as we remember that the goal of these stories is growth in relationship.

I believe in the power of attention to transform us: attention to people who have made a trail for us to follow, attention to the people we relate to and to their stories, attention to where we need to make more efforts to grow and the consequences of failing to do so.

I believe that life is worth living, and that there is always potential for good to come out of disaster or wrong-doing.
