1. People without accounts see only the first "tweet" in a thread, so some are kind enough to either take and post a screenshot, or scrape or "threadreader" a thread.

Unfortunately, it really takes a few extra steps to post a photo on DU.
You have to upload/post your image somewhere, and then get the link to the photo and paste it here.

2. One who understands nitter.net can input the tweeter's username and get their content. What to do with it? I haven't tried.

Rant.

Why normal people use it really astounds me. Anyone who posts there is likely to get nazi propaganda advertised next to their content, and that's why many companies have quit the platform.

Like nerfing a skunk "for fun", the consequences are hard to wash off.
