I understand the religious scuttled the bill over hyped fear of trangendered men going into the women's bathrooms.

What the article doesn't tell me is:

• what was the HERO bill really helping with? (article vaguely mentions equality of access?)

• what was the real reason the religious lunatics opposed it? (I'm sure it's more than toilets)
