Just strolling as a tourist. Encountered some workmen digging up what appeared to be a very old mosaic floor, and asked them why they were doing it. They said the floor was a thousand years old, but that there was a two-thousand year old floor beneath it. Mind boggling for a 21 year old from Oregon.
