I sometimes catch scents of perfume - like roses - that shouldn't be in the air at all. And sometimes I'll catch the faintest whiff of mothball -an odor that reminds me of my Italian grandmother - but it's never connected to something that happens later. Just random weird odors

Your nose is psychic! I wonder if there's some phenomenon that's been named like that.

Worth a google! You should find out what a winning lottery ticket smells like and when you smell that, go buy a Powerball ticket immediately!
