Once I walked out mess hall I think it was Graf maybe hoehnfels and I did not have my glasses on I passed this 2 nd lt he was like do you not understand how salute. I'm thinking geez I just pcs from 325 out Bragg , I hated mech infantry to begin with. So he goes what is your excuse for not saluting it was dark winter time I told him sir I did not have my glasses on , He totally tried keep straight face and told me carry on.
