Unless they were at a gun show with no actual licensed gun dealers (and while such a thing may exist, I've certainly never heard of one), the notion of no background checks being conducted is ludicrous. A dealer failing to comply with the federal law mandating such checks would be risking the loss of their business and imprisonment. While I don't doubt there were unlicensed private individuals walking around the show selling guns, such have always been in the large minority at any gun show I've attended (100's...).

I suspect what the reporter may have seen is the sort of "not-a-gun-dealer" gun dealer, someone with a couple tables full of tactical junk and a few firearms for sale, that President Obama's recent actions just put out of business unless they get licensed. Great decision on the president's part, btw...

Personally, I'm not ready to call the reporter a liar...just sloppy.
