1. My parents always read to me, both mom and dad

And my husband and I always read to our boys when they were small, they loved it. I feel sorry for children that have no one to read to them. All my kids could read when they entered kindergarten. I used to volunteer-read to kids at the elementary school.

My dad used to do this thing where he’d substitute a silly word for a word in the text and see if we noticed (my sister and I always called him out, we’d howl with laughter sometimes). Ah, that was so long ago.
