I’ve played in many bands with women (I’m a male) and have never had a problem. Most of the women were the band leaders and it didn’t even a occur to me that there would be a problem. When professional musicians act like professional musicians there never needs to be a problem.

I play in one group with my wife and it would break my heart if anyone ever considered her less a musician than I. She’s worked just as hard as I have to get where she is today. There’s something about sharing love and sharing music that is hard to beat.
