3. I know what it's like

I started honing my humor and acting skills during the 7th grade.

If I could make people laugh, they'd leave me alone. I learned how to act straight really quick. I'd pick up on visual cues and speech patterns of the straight kids and practice them.

Pretty soon you can blend in, but it comes at a cost to your well being.
