but I was so so happy to see him out there and to see him with Chasten just gave me goosebumps. Every time I saw them together I got teary. If only my brother had lived long enough to see this. If only he had felt he was as valued and valid as a human being as everyone else he might have lived. Sometimes the way you are taught to think about yourself as a child never goes away. This would have made him proud to be a gay man and I would still have my precious brother.
