...my own coinage, but it is also possible I read it somewhere and adopted it.

Irrespective of the origins, it describes what is happening.

I have avoided the use of the softball term "climate change" in recent times, and choose to use "extreme global heating" which I heard in a lecture by NJ State Senator/Scientist Andrew Zwicker.
