Help me convince my kid to get a macbook [View all]

The plan was for me to buy it for his HS graduation/pre-college gift

But he thinks that he can save us money by asking for a Vizio CN15 because it looks cool, and is only $1200 with a solid state drive etc

I think a nice 15 inch 8 gb Macbook for $1900 would be perfect for him.

Give me some talking points. My daughter is mac , I am mac, even his mother has an ipad now and she is PC through and through. I just don't want a pc for him-- even if he claims he will avoid explorer.

PS he will major in econ.
