3. I've always found street view helpful in this area

Because there are few to none, or well hidden addresses. Recognizing a building from street view is sometimes easier than hunting for the hidden address. But, as you say, google will still be available, so no great loss.

Not yet. But apparently Street View is not often used by most people on their phones. onehandle Aug 2012 #2
