2. I did check the headers/IP # and the email does appear to be genuine and from FB

I went to my FB account and (hopefully!) opted out so I can continue using the 2-step authentication. I'm afraid the new option requires using an authenticator app, and I don't want to put an FB app on my phone.

So far using the login code has worked for me, hopefully that will continue!
