HP Deskjet Multifunction Printer -- Not sure if this is normal behavior or not. [View all]

My specific model is HP Deskjet 3520 and I have Windows 10. I don't print documents very often so, consequently, my printer is turned off most of the time. Recently, I've noticed Device Manager doesn't show that the printer exists if the printer is turned off. However, if I have the printer turned on, the printer shows up in Device Manager. When the printer is turned on, Device Manager indicates it is working properly and if I try to update the driver, I get a message saying the best printer driver is already installed. So, my question is, is it normal for Device Manager to not list the printer if the printer is turned off or does this behavior indicate a problem? As I said, I don't print documents very often, so I don't know what normal behavior is when it comes to printers being listed or not listed in Device Manager. Thanks for any advice/suggestions!
