Never click a link which is in an email sent to you, even if it is from someone you know, unless you know what that link is and can verify that the link is valid. By which I mean you can compare the link to one in your own address book, for instance.

Disregard anyone emailing you about bank accounts, loans or tax matters. Banks, loan companies and governments do not communicate via email.
