Jayapal has been doing a great job leading the house Progressives and would run a high stakes race for that Senate seat. Eastern WA Republicans would run rough shot over her and that race would be way to close to call IMO

Murray knows the workings of the Senate in and out and has been instrumental in assuring their legislative wins. She is high up in the Democratic leadership. You may not hear much from her in the news but she is one of those wonky silent folks who gets the heavy lifting done. She is also the Senates first female President Pro Tem and is the most senior member of the majority party.
