1. What is the correct way to pay bonuses in an eat what you kill environment.

Like sales or trading. Hard to guess what revenue one would have generated if they were not on leave. In the end, said revenue was not generated though. If a bonus is less than 100% of base, then just pay it in full, but in finance, the bonuses can easily be 200-1000% of base salary contingent on generating revenue.
