using the so-called RCP 4.5 scenario which assumes a significant reduction in emissions, although not as significant as required by the Paris Agreement.

Almost all Rethugs ludicrously think the Paris Agreement is Stalinist commie tosh, and I wager a small but not non-existent number of the furthermost to the centre Dems (Hickenlooper is a huge pro-fracker for instance) think the Paris Agreement is probably enough (or they hope it is) to solve it. Even if that is too harsh on some Dems, it most definitely is NOT too harsh on the many and myriad lunatic voters in their pinkish and red districts or states that they have to appease to get elected and stay there.

The 3 things that are the most obvious open differences between the Western/Northern EU (I am here for the summer, as well as back in London for part of it too) and the US are

Healthcare attitudes (they think the for-profit US system is insane)

Climate Change (they think the US populace is delusional and suicidal)

US War/Security/Surveillance state spending (they think, correctly IMHO, that the US shits away 500 billion to 1 trillion USD or so a year to keep on maintaining empire via hard power (versus soft), although this has changed a wee bit for some due to Russian aggression at multiple levels)

bonus

The cost of US uni versus (especially outside of the UK) the basically free tuition (or ultra low cost) in a majority of the EU. They cannot wrap their heads around 50K to 75K (let alone 100,000, 200,000 USD or more for post grads) student debt loads.
