3. I believe the Brexit crowd bears a close resemblance to the Trump crowd.

I’m American and haven’t been exposed to the Brexit campaign directly, but I have some family and friends scattered around England. Most see it for what it is, but some are in the tank for it.

All I can think is there is a certain kind of brain that is horribly susceptible to nationalist fear agitprop. It doesn’t correlate to IQ since one of the smartest people I know, a retired classics professor in Exeter, is insanely pro Brexit. This also holds true for some of the Trump nuts I know. Smart people completely consumed by blatant propaganda. Weird.
