11. All it takes is one juror to get a defendant off.

Basically, that juror is the Joe Manchin of the trial. No matter how overwhelming the evidence, or how clear the judge's instructions, they sit there with their arms crossed saying, "No." No reason given, just "No." And they will not budge. The best the prosecution can hope for is a hung jury, which will lead to the judge declaring a mistrial and redo with a new jury.
