American CITIZENS should be allowed to vote in American elections. If you are not a citizen, you should not be able to vote and thereby influence policy/conditions in this country. Likewise having some form of proof of citizenship ensures your right to do so.

We do not vote in the elections of other countries, nor should their citizens vote in ours.
