Then I read the comments. I still think its a great idea. Im originally from Minnesota and now live in the U.K.
Ive been around a few cities in the U.K. and in Europe. We have our fair share of fast food places and yes we do have them with drive thrus. Weve had equally horrible weather like Minnesota has (see Beast from the East).
Every single European city Ive been in have fast food places with no drive thrus. Before you say something like, thats not true! Ive been in so and so city and Ive seen drive throughs. Theyre usually on the outskirts of cities at smallish retail areas (and Ive lived near Nottingham, Loughborough, Durham, Newcastle upon Tyne, and others). Even the service areas on major motorways here in the U.K. dont have drive throughs.
For example, The town centre in Loughborough is now pedestrianised so there is no need for drive thrus. And on the outskirts of the city, near a super Tesco, is a McDonalds with a drive thru. Im sure on the outskirts of Minneapolis have Fast food place with drive thrus and they even let the existing ones stay open.
I can see by they did it and with good intentions.
