Tim Walz has been a friend of mine and my husband's since early 2005. We have watched him progress from High School teacher, to Congressman, to Governor of Minnesota. The determination, compassion, willingness to listen, then act on his convictions is what makes him the best choice for Kamala Harris to choose him as her running mate.

The articles on the front page as well as in the Op Ed section brought joy to my heart that the Tim Walz that I know is indeed ready for the larger stage of politics in the interests of the people. I cannot think of a better champion than Tim.
Back in 2006 at a Fundraiser for Tim at a farm near Hayfield, I said to them 5 year old Hope Walz, "Someday, there will be articles written about your dad about the GOOD things he has done for people.He will be in the History books."

I last saw Hope when I was a Delegate at the DFL State Convention in my former hometown of Rochesster in 2022. Tim and Peggy Flanagan were running for re-election. She gave me a hug and she remembered what I had said to her when she was 5. I was touched beyond words. She has turned out to be remarkable in her own right.
