Chicago high school cheers White Sox fan Pope Leo XIV -- 'He's one of us' [View all]
Lots of interesting cool stuff in this article:
“He’s always been there for our whole entire family and was very, very close to my dad,” Skokal said. “And my dad told him all the time, ‘Father Bob, you’re going to be the next pope.’”
Schmit’s prediction came true when Cardinal Prevost was elected the first U.S.-born pope on Thursday. Skokal said that, though her dad died in 2020, he was smiling down from heaven at his old friend. “He’s going to be so great for this world,” she said through tears.
Vince, who has known Prevost his whole life, remembers him coming over to hang out with his grandpa.
“He is just the most gentle person, a very kind man,” Vince said. “My grandpa would take us out for milkshakes. And I remember Father Bob tagging along.”

There is a photo of the Pope at the White Sox world series game with some parishioners. I can't cut and past it.
Clearly I'm not Catholic. But, we need good people who can unite us in this world.
