Report from the 1st day of early voting in my Northeast GA county: big voter turnout! [View all]

Yesterday (Monday October 17) I voted early, in-person at my county Board of Elections office.

There was a long line of people stretching up the sidewalk. While we waited in line, poll workers brought us clipboards & pens to fill out the paperwork to give to the official inside, who then checked our ID and issued our poll card. It was an absolutely beautiful fall day! Everyone was excited and energized to vote!

As usual, the BoE employees and poll workers were running a very professional and efficient operation. It took me about 30 minutes to vote. Our county Board of Elections always does a great job!

When I left about 4pm, the line was as long as when I arrived!

A Board of Elections official told me that people were lined up to vote at 7am that morning. She said that the BoE office didn’t even open until 8am, and voting wasn’t even scheduled to start until 9am!

She told me that people had been coming to vote all day long! The line never got shorter.

The turnout was big, y’all! 😀 Way to go, my fellow citizens! 🙌

GOTV for Democrats up & down the ballot! 🗳🍑🇺🇸
