In reply to the discussion: Should I move to Florida? [View all]Biophilic
(5,743 posts)6. I moved to Florida over 3 years ago. Still love it.
Obviously some areas may be more red and difficult than others. But that was true in Michigan where I lived before. I love the sunshine although it’s too hot for me in the summer, but the winters make up for that. At least where I live now people are more relaxed and friendly. My only real complaint is the snowbirds who come down thinking they are more important than anyone else. They change the atmosphere for 3 or 4 months, but then they are gone. Even during hurricanes I haven’t regretted my move.

It's no more difficult to live as a progressive in Florida than any other place in the country.

So, the fact Trump won is proof Florida is a shit hole? Is that the point you're trying so hard to make?

Depends--it'd be great to have more progressives move here to counteract the MAGAt flood.

My concern, beyond governance, is the ability or inability to get insurance. nt
