Bidens back in Delaware on the heels of relief bill; more local trips planned [View all]

After celebrating the COVID-19 relief bill Friday afternoon during a ceremony and press conference in the White House Rose Garden in Washington, President Joe Biden commuted home for the weekend just before rush hour.

All the way home.

Biden and first lady Jill Biden are back in Delaware for the weekend. The Bidens, along with a few aides, traveled on a Marine One helicopter from Washington to New Castle Airport. It departed at 3:42 p.m.

The chopper landed near New Castle at 4:28 p.m., and the Bidens left the airport in their motorcade at 4:37, snarling Friday afternoon traffic. They arrived at their Greenville home at 4:52.

It's unclear why the Bidens traveled on the helicopter instead of the smaller version of Air Force One. Press secretary Jen Psaki was forced last week to defend Biden's trips to Delaware.
