2. He was a tech millionaire back in the 2000's.

He used to throw his money into political issues, and made a lot of news over it. His causes, in my opinion, were often dubious and designed to get him endorsements and fame. When he first ran for the House he absolutely flooded Boulder county with ads. His opponent in the primary (whom I really liked) never stood a chance.

Obviously, this is all subjective, but I remember resenting the hell out of him over some of the issues he championed, and swayed to one side, with his buckets of cash.

Still, I maintain that he has done some good work, both as a US Rep and as a governor.
