was still lauded at the time, with the original Stapleton Airport named for him in 1944 and a landmark in Denver until DIA opened in 1995.

Now, while the nasty racist past of Stapleton has led to a push to rename everything originally named for him, we did see the successful defeat of his great-grandson, Walker, in the 2018 R gubernatorial election to
Democrat (and openly gay) Jay Polis.

So, Colorado has made progress to move from this kind of crap.
