(70,114 posts)12. My wife and I binged the BBC "Poirot" mysteries with David Suchet all through Donnie Diaper's first term.
Some of it was nostalgia; we watched the mysteries together when we first started dating (thirty years ago! )
The rest was just pure escape. It's weird when murder mysteries offer a pleasant relief from the shitstorm of modern life.

Watching those old westerns brings back some hazy childhood memories for me. I was about five when we got our first TV.

I think such shows give us a sense of accomplishment thru the investigation process.
