Amp shopping for 16 yesterday Big Lebowski Sunday.

Kiddo has been jamming with us since November i even have had her take home a 5 watt fender champ a clone that a great friend and amp builder put together years ago my wife asked him to build it as surprise as a Christmas gift 2004 I remember cuz 18 was not even two months old this was before we started getting the fantastic choices we have today in low watt tube Amps as when I first met 16 she was using solid state Duncanpup said in my Yoda speak tube you must have child.

For home use we also have several Marshall DSL two one watts and a 5 watt picked them up used off reverb I am a gear head it’s a addiction and they work for us as we sit around dining room table 16-18 and friends and i will jam.

Anyway 16 mom 18 my one son and I were sitting at the bar the other day in the kitchen shooting the breeze cuz she was showing 18 her cake recipe and i was doing stuffed shells store bought and Italian sausages so we all could enjoy a meal together yes we all we’re surrounded by domestic woof mooches it was terrifying .

She mentioned that she will be receiving a huge amount of back child support and she wants to buy her kiddo an amp. 16 loves my champ clone yet it’s only for use not for sale. So yesterday after work I picked up kiddo for her Dunc pup driver education and we hit Guitar center just to research not buy reason I will not spend $ at G.C. Bain capital piss on Mittens Romney ,will find what we like then shop used on reverb.

So we went and amps we played we grabbed Mexi strat and Prs se 245 off the wall single coils and Humbuckers definitely in depth science ass tifical research 16-18 are my single coil players me i prefer the PAF tone.
Amps we tried two black star 5 watt 1-10 and I never knew they have 5 watt twin 2-10 black star that we played.
Vox 4 watt by the way worth it if you want one.
And a 1606 supro which brought memories of my youth my brother and I would jam through the old man’s fender and his supro tell you the simplicity is just one volume and Hi and low side.

I even asked sales guy if we could borrow a boost pedal to explore the 1606 and with boost and the Mexi strat the cleans were beautiful fat and full and with the se 245 tone wise we were in the neighborhood of that little shack outside La grange.

So after our research we bailed to get ice cream that’s only reason Dunc came along loves car rides belly rubs and cheeseburgers and ice cream in guitar center belly rubs. Even from total strangers what a belly rubs whore yes I say you can pet him he’s not a service dog actually ,I’m his service human and Dunc is hilarious he rolls over to get belly rub and he covers his parts with his tail Mr modesty.

So 16 really liked the 2-10 black star we’re sitting outside waiting on our cheeseburgers I love this place it’s like old time drive in yet it was so nice out the weather we did picnic tables.

Looking on reverb not one black star 5 watt twin so with cheeseburgers I ate crow I called G.C. hold the 2-10 black star we will be back in like hour to buy it. $350 used wasn’t gonna buy anything yet we did I told her mom pay me when you get your back child support or kiddo can work it off in helping us paint the family room and dining room this summer.

So after the boys get done with work they’ll pick up kiddo and her new used amp and head home to jam. And tomorrow all four us will be going to see 18 and Dads favorite movie the big Lebowski 25 th anniversary 18 and I joke 15 year old golden is the Dude
