...is why single-payer is not even on the table for discussion, not even among prominent Democrats.

Bill Clinton was not favouring single-payer when he presented his plan in 1994, and then promptly rolled over and let the Republicans kick him.

Obamacare, while a tiny step in the right direction, is not single-payer, and he caved to Max Baucus on the "public option" (which would have been a few baby-steps further), despite having to have known that trying to keep the insurance companies in charge to get Republican votes wouldn't work. They have never supported anything Obama has done or tried to do.

Why is Hillary Clinton not even mentioning single-payer?
