You might spray it with fixative which you can get in an art store or online under art materials. Spraying it will not alter it in any way but it will protect the colors and the paper from yellowing. If you use pencil or charcoal the spray will protect them from being smeared. Just be sure to do it outdoors because it really smells. Spray back and forth lightly without getting the paper wet. One pass side to side and one up and down is plenty.

You can use the cardboard backing of the same kind of pad you drew it from. That will keep it flat and keep it from fading. Anything stiff will keep it from curling.
