and how the South is so misunderstood. We need to know the facts so we can counter the lies. Thanks. I had not known that the bill that was passed did not stipulate that the blacks who fought would be freed.

Regarding the Confederate Battle Flag, and what the meaning of it really is, that doesn't matter much to me. I know what the meaning was at the time they were fighting, but the connotation today is not really about honoring the people who fought. Talk to anyone who is flying the flag for long enough, and you will know what their intent is.
