30. When is a lack of effort good?
Wed Nov 12, 2014, 09:59 PM
Nov 2014

This is a direct quote from the story:

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

Are you saying because the students that didn't study are receiving higher grades they are learning more? The "slowest persons", as you refer to them, are not being nicely educated. Also, nobody in the story is actually referred to as "slow". The differentiation is about effort, "studied hard" and "studied little", not smart and slow.

Don't we want everyone to give their best effort? We all cheat ourselves when we don't give our best!
