Meme needing to be debunked seen on social media: Scientists who post a letter have ulterior motives [View all]

Note: Before you scold me, I am simply posting this meme TO BE DEBUNKED. Notice that this is posted in the Propaganda Debunking sub-group. 'Nuff said.

I will try to say this from memory only. The meme went as follows: Any time you see a group of scientists posting a large group letter, they are doing it only to: 1) cover their asses; 2) get paid somehow or 3) to further some type of conspiracy.

Now, when I saw this, I immediately thought this person was probably a climate denier or some other sort of far-right wacko who goes against science.

Is this a common meme out there in the sewers of the internet ? Or is this a one-off ?

Thank you for your time in advance !

Steve
