In reply to the discussion: What is your favorite snack/snacks? Mine are hummus and pita chips. What about you.? [View all]GreatGazoo
(4,043 posts)1. Played with making hummus when I was chef for a not busy restaurant
They had big cans of chickpeas from before my stewardship so I just started playing with it and sending samples to the bar. It is very versatile, takes other flavors well and won non-hummus people over easily. Love it with roast garlic, lemon juice, fresh green herbs like italian parsley. Roast red peppers.
My favorite snack is probably quesadillas cooked in a bit of butter and topped with sour cream cream, guac and pico de gallo.
Or if not cooking, chips and salsa. Worked at one resto where I found out that I literally could not stop eating chips and salsa.
Kale chips with grated parm baked in the oven is another fave.
