For me, he is.

He was the first doctor I saw, so like a duckling I have imprinted on him and he will always be the standard others must compete with.

Was he the best ?

That is up to the viewer, but I can't see him even 50 years after I saw him for the first time on our local PBS station as being The Doctor.

Thanks for posting that, glad to see he still has a strong voice and a distinct personality.
