In April 1968, LBJs approval rating was under 40% and white supremacists like the KKK pictured below strutted openly in the Deep South:

In June 2024, POTUS Joe Biden's approval rating was 43%.

And in Nov 2024, white supremacists paraded brazenly in Columbus, Ohio.
